Limo.Net's TurboWeb Accelerator is a subscription-based service that
increases the speed at which you see Web pages. The service is designed
for people
who
access
the Internet via a connection that's less than 200kbps.

Limo.Net's Accelerator, powered by SlipStream, speeds up the delivery of
Web pages in three ways:
- Compression—Limo.Net's
Accelerator delivers text and graphics more efficiently, using a proprietary
compression technology that significantly reduces the size of Web pages
and page elements sent to your browser.
- Caching—Limo.Net's Accelerator intelligently
retains and re-uses Web pages and page elements that have previously
been sent to your PC. That's why the longer Limo.Net's Accelerator is
in use on your PC, the faster your Web pages will load.
- Persistent Connections—Limo.Net's Accelerator
uses proprietary techniques to carefully manage and optimize the communication
between your modem and our network of servers through a persistent connection.
This eliminates the time wasted re-establishing and closing TCP/IP connections.
How fast is Limo.Net's Accelerator?
Limo.Net's Accelerator brings you service that's up to five times faster than regular dial-up speeds.
How does Limo.Net's Accelerator compare with DSL or cable modem access?
Limo.Net's Accelerator is an affordable, software-only solution designed to significantly enhance Web access over low-speed (less than 200 kbps) connections. DSL and cable modems provide high-speed service through telephone or cable lines.
DSL and cable are broadband technologies, which means they provide faster service than the enhanced dial-up service Limo.Net's Accelerator brings you. However, Limo.Net's Accelerator service is considerably less expensive than DSL or cable, and is available wherever dial-up access is available.
Does everything on my computer move faster? What kind of Web content does Limo.Net's Accelerator speed up?
Limo.Net's Accelerator improves delivery speeds for everything that's Web-based.
You'll see an improvement in load times for:
- Web pages
- Most graphics and photos—including .jpeg and .gif
files and most Flash images
- Browser-based emails
- Rich media (or html) emails
The speed of your dial-up service will stay the same with respect to:
- Streaming media, audio, and video files
- Secure pages—like the ones used for online banking
and shopping
- MP3 files and executable programs
Does Limo.Net's Accelerator speed up the retrieval and delivery of email?
Limo.Net's Accelerator speeds up Web-based email programs (like Limo.Net's
MailMan or Squirrelmail).
When it comes to non-Web-based email programs (like Outlook), you'll notice
a difference when you open an email that contains .gif files, .jpeg files,
and Flash graphics. Limo.Net's Accelerator only speeds up embedded HTML
images.
Is my Limo.Net's Accelerator service always on?
Yes. Limo.Net's Accelerator is automatically on whenever you use your browser to access the Internet.
Does Limo.Net's Accelerator work with Virtual Private Networks (VPNs)?
VPNs provide remote users with secure access to corporate Intranets. VPN traffic is usually encrypted. For this reason, Limo.Net's Accelerator does not speed up Web pages accessed over VPNs. However, Limo.Net's Accelerator automatically allows non-accelerated surfing of VPN pages. When Limo.Net's Accelerator is accessing VPN pages, a yellow triangle (similar to a yield sign) appears in the taskbar to let you know that the service is temporarily unavailable.
Is Limo.Net's Accelerator compatible with personal firewalls and ad blockers?
Yes. Limo.Net's Accelerator is compatible with most ad blockers, popup stoppers,
personal firewalls, and other utilities. In some cases, minor adjustment
to your configuration is needed. If you have any trouble configuring Limo.Net's
Accelerator with one of our other services, please contact
support.
How do I install Limo.Net's Accelerator?
When you sign up for Limo.Net's PowerSurf, we'll send you a confirmation
email that includes information about to install Limo.Net's Accelerator.

If Limo.Net's Accelerator is installed on your computer, you'll see a small, blue, propeller-like icon in the Windows taskbar area near your system clock.

rate. We offer a free 30 day trial of TurboWeb. If you continue to use
TurboWeb your account will be billed for using TurboWeb.
Does Limo.Net's Accelerator require any special hardware or equipment?
No. Limo.Net's Accelerator doesn't require any special hardware or equipment.
You'll receive an email with easy-to-follow instructions for installing
Limo.Net's Accelerator when you order PowerSuff, our premium dial-up service
plan.
How long does it take to download Limo.Net's Accelerator?
It takes approximately 5-10 minutes to download Limo.Net's Accelerator, based on the speed of your modem and the processing speed of your computer.
I travel with my computer. Can I use Limo.Net's Accelerator when I'm away from home?
Yes. You should have no trouble using Limo.Net's Accelerator on the road as long as you are accessing the Internet through a dial-up connection in the U.S. or Canada and your computer meets the minimum system requirements for Limo.Net's Accelerator service.
Can I get Limo.Net's Accelerator without subscribing to Limo.Net's Plus?
Yes you can purchase TurboWeb as a stand alone product. TurboWeb as a stand
alone product runs $2.00/month.
